Description

THE LANE SERIES

Cool climate wines celebrating our diverse altitude, latitude, climate and ancient soils of the Adelaide Hills. These unique environmental influences are reflected in our wines; intense fruit flavours, beautiful natural acidity, balance, purity and sophistication.

THE 2020 VINTAGE

An unseasonably dry winter was balanced out with above average rainfall in June and August ensuring optimal soil moisture at budburst. Cool temperatures early in the season resulted in evening ripening and good flower development. A cold spell at fruit set resulted in very low yields across all varieties. A heat spike in January ensured optimal ripeness of fruit combining with low yields to produce fruit of far above average flavour intensity.

2020 SHIRAZ

Lifted, fine and elegant. A classic, cool-climate Shiraz, 100% estate-grown from various blocks with an average vine age of 16 years. Fruit is co-fermented as whole berries with a touch of Viognier to enhance the aromatic profiles of the Shiraz, brighten the colour and soften the tannins. The finished wine displays aromas of lifted violets, forest fruits and cloves with a palate of dense brambly fruit, spice, and fine mouth-coating tannins. The most highly awarded wine in The Lane series, regularly scoring over 95 points from wine writers.
